I am a PC/Network Support III Computer Technician employed at Texas Tech University Center at Junction.
I maintain all computer systems and video conferencing equipment at the Center
as well as maintain the center's website.
My affiliations and Community involvement.
Junction Independent School District, Board of Trustees Place
1: In 2004 I got involved with the school system, and politics. I ran
un-apposed for place 1 on the School Board and was sworn in on May 12, 2004. In
2009 I was re-elected to my second term, running un-apposed for the second
time. My current term will expire in May of 2010. I served as the Board Vice-President during the
later half of my first year. I am currently serving at the Board Secretary. I was also the first board member in our districts history
to be certified by TASB and receive a Boardmanship Basic Certification and accepted into the Leadership TASB program, a
program that hand selects Only 35 School Board Trustees from across the state to
attend the year long intensive leadership development program. I graduated from
the program in 2007 as a Master Trustee.
Kimble County 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor/Coach: In the Fall of 2008 I was certified as the 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor and Coach. I restarted the 4-H Shooting sports program in the Spring of 2009 with 15 students from age 10-18. I wrote and
received a $6,000 grant from the NRA Foundation for new rifles. The club participated in the
2009 Districts 3-P competition with the Intermediate group placing 4th. In
the Summer of 2009 I was certified as an NRA Rifle Instructor and in the Fall certified as a Range Safety Officer.
Past President, Junction Rotary Club: I was a member of the Junction
Rotary Club from 2001 to 2009. I served as President for the 2007-2008 year. I
served as the club Treasurer for three years from 2002 to 2005 and served as
Vice-President for the 2005-2006 year and President-Elect 2006-2007. I
was in charge of the Annual Exotic
Hunt Raffle which was our biggest fund raiser of the year, raising over $8,7000
in 4 years as its director, which was used to award scholarships, support
local charities, and give to the Polio Plus Foundation. I was named the
2003-2004, 2005-2006, 2006-07 and 2007-08 Fundraiser of the Year. In 2008 I was selected as the 2007-08 "Rotarian of the Year". I am also the webmaster of the club website.
www.junctionrotary.org. In the Summer of 2009 I resigned from
Rotary to fulfil my obligations as the 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor and Coach.
Past President, Kimble Hospital Foundation: In Jan. 2007 I was elected
to serve as the President of the Kimble Hospital Foundation.
It is a foundation that created to raise money to support and expand our hospital here
in Junction. I was elected to be the first treasurer for the Kimble Hospital
Foundation in 2002 and served in that capacity until Jan. 2007. In 2009, as President of the Foundation, I assisted in the efforts to pass a $16 Million Dollar Bond to build a New Kimble County Hospital.
My Term as President expired in Sept, 2009, serving a total of 7 years on the board.
Fire Fighter, Junction Volunteer Fire Department: In March 2003,
I became an active member of the Junction VFD and the Kimble County Ranch Fire
Association. In March of 2008 I was selected as the 2007 Junction VFD &
KCRFA
"Firefighter of the Year". I am currently the 1st Vice
President of the Organization and will serve as its President in 2010.Working with the Junction Volunteer Fire
Department allowed me to get certified as an Advanced Scuba Diver as of November
2004.
Chamber of Commerce Webmaster: Developed and
maintain the Website for the Junction Chamber of Commerce.

My Hobbies:
As you can see from this website, I am passionate about outdoor
activities. Aside from my family, Fishing and Hunting are the
things I love to do most. I am a strong believer it promoting
and protecting our precious resources. I also believe strongly
in teaching our children the value of our heritage and natural
resources. I also believe that it is only through our children
can we protect its future.
